About the Course
The SAFE+ course enhances the original SAFE curriculum by transitioning from fragile environments to addressing active threats found in hostile environments. These settings often require a close protection team due to threats such as gunfire, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), or vehicle ambushes. The course is grounded in industry best practices, focusing on the management of threats and hazards. Participants acquire vital skills and knowledge for staying in hostile environments, effectively mitigating risks, and taking appropriate actions when confronted with danger.
Through scenario-based learning, participants gain context-specific strategies for dealing with threats that could result in serious injury or death. The course covers a range of skills, such as cross-decking, coordinating movements with a close protection team, and responding to gunfire. These skills are contextualised to meet the demands of the threats participants might encounter, thereby enhancing their ability to mitigate risks effectively.
