The Rocky Road Close Protection pathway is a structured, two-tier programme for security professionals who understand that protecting principals demands more than physical presence. The SIA Level 3 Certificate covers the fundamentals - threat and risk assessment, surveillance awareness, reconnaissance, route planning, venue security, journey management, conflict management, and physical intervention. Eighteen days of scenario-based training that closes the gap between theory and the ground. Add the Level 7 Close Protection Risk Management and Analysis course, credentialed through the University of Buckingham, and you move from operative to manager: building the strategic frameworks, threat intelligence analysis, and protective security architecture required to command CP operations at an executive level. The SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP) is the only qualification developed in collaboration with NaCTSO and formally endorsed by Counter Terrorism Policing, built to meet the responsibilities introduced by the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
